Alissa Quart is Executive Editor of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. She is the author of five books of nonfiction, including Squeezed: Why Our Families Can’t Afford America, and the forthcoming Bootstrapped: Liberating Ourselves from the American Dream. Alissa also contributes journalism to The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Review of Books, and many other publications.
